Who's Cold - NFL Week 3

Ladainian Tomlinson. He went from record-setter and best RB in the NFL to implosive, depressed and under-performing RB on an average team. The Chargers have already matched their loss total (2) from 2006. LT has managed only 2.3 yards/carry with 57 carries in 3 games. LT got into a yelling match with Philip Rivers on the sidelines and was virtually speechless in the post-game interview. The Chargers are floundering right now and the NFL MVP is being questioned about his performance against consistent 8 and 9-man fronts.

Drew Brees. The Saints aren't the world-beaters in 2006 anymore. They are 0-3. The QB is always get the blame in the NFL. Brees has thrown 7 INTs in 3 games, tops in the NFL, including 4 on Monday Night Football and national television. Deuce McAllister will be out for a long time, so that doesn't help. He's completing 43% of his passes and a league-low 5.3 yards per attempt. All signs point to Brees and the Saints being done this year.

Rex Grossman. He thought he had heat on him last year? How about in 2007? Instead of just playing poorly with the Bears winning, Grossman has thrown 6 INTs, the Bears are 1-2 (a full 2 games behind Green Bay in the North) and the Bears are thinking of starting Griese. Things couldn't be much worse for the Chicago signal-caller.

Reggie Bush. Despite two short TD runs against the Titans (those would have went to McAllister if healthy BTW), Bush is struggling to adjust to opposing defenses. He's still thinking he can get the corner anytime he wants - this isn't college, Mr.Bush. Bush has 29 carries for 80 yards (less than 3 yards/carry) and a long gain on the year of 11 yards. His punt returns against Tennessee were unproductive. Now with McAllister out, he will be used up the middle more (not his strength) and take more hits than he's used to.

Matt Leinart. He has all the weapons around him and has struggled out of th gate. Making matters worse is having a former Super Bowl MVP as your back-up. Leinart was benched against Baltimore after falling way behind to see Warner hit Boldin over and over to get the game tied up in the 4th quarter. While Leinart is the future of the franchise, they would go with Warner if they had a better chance in 2007. His rating is down in the 60s and is completing only 54% of his passes (who is he, Michael Vick?). The Cards were the vogue pick in the West, but sit at 1-2 with Pittsburgh up next.
