Who's Hot - NFL Week 3

Tom Brady. He's always been a great quarterback - now he has a great set of receivers. No offense to Deion Branch or Reche Caldwell, but Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Kelley Washington and Wes Welker running routes will help any QB. Brady's 3-0, they've blown every opponent out, he's on pace for 53 TDs at this point and is completing almost 80% of his passes. Life is good.

Brett Favre. Other than being 3-0 and having key "upsets" against Philly and the Bolts, Favre is having fun again. He looks years younger than the past seasons where he contemplated retirement every off-season. He's avoiding the big interceptions, making good decisions and making his vintage runs down the field to jump on his touchdown-catching receivers. The Pack is back, and in the NFC, anyone above .500 is a contender.

Jon Kitna. You have to admit, you thought Kitna was certifiably crazy talking about 10+ wins in 2007. Despite a loss to the bounce-back Eagles in week 3, the Lions sit at 2-1 and looking competitive this year. He has 980 yards and TDs in the first 3 weeks and a good group of receivers. They have a gut-check game against Chicago in week 4, but regardless of the outcome, is in the mix for a change in the NFC Norris.

John Abraham. The Falcons aren't going to win many games this year and their defense isn't better than average in the NFL either. Abraham is played like a man possessed. Everyone remembers 2006 where Abraham had a huge game against Carolina, then battled injuries for the rest of the year. He looks healthy in 2007 and at the top of his Pro Bowl-caliber game. He owned the Panthers' offensive line in week 3 - they just couldn't block him - and his games against Minnesota and Jacksonville were equally impressive. His dominance will go largely unnoticed with Atlanta bidding for a top-5 draft pick this year, but Abraham is playing like a beast.

Chad Johnson/T.J. Houshmandzadeh. The tandem is on fire early in the season. They've combined for 702 yards and 7 TDs - in 3 games. They rank #1 and #3 in the NFL in catches, have 12 catches of 20+ yards and produced over 30 PPG for the Bengals. They're 1-2 on the year, but there performance cannot be to blame.

Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben needed to rebound early this year from a sub-par performance in 2006. That's exactly what he's done. With a new coach, the Steelers have opened up just as solid with a 3-0 record and great performances on both sides of the ball. Big Ben is a big part of it with 6 TDs, 1 INT and a passer rating over 100 through the first 3 games.
